What to Expect

Over the last 50 years, Pierre’s Costumes has acquired the collections of numerous retiring costume shops, amassing an inventory that includes more than 1,000,000 unique and historical costume pieces. Serving a wide spectrum of the entertainment industry, the shop serves clients in television, film, professional and community theater, national touring productions, and many more. Clients have included NBC, Fox, MTV, Green Day, and tours of Beauty & The Beast, Cats, and the Russian Ballet. In addition, Pierre’s has created custom mascots for clients like Fruit of the Loom, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Eagles, and University of North Carolina.

To meet the individual needs of a wide variety of high budget and shoestring productions, Pierre’s Costumes offers personalized solutions. Clients may rent costumes from the vast inventory or meet with a designer to order a custom fabricated garment. Additionally, the shop supplies wigs and professional quality makeup supplies. For popular costume seasons, especially Halloween, the shop offers a large selection to the public for sale and rental.

In staffing the long-running costume shop, Pierre’s seeks artistic and creative individuals. Sewing skills are a necessity, but more than that, the company looks for imaginative and expressive individuals who can produce interesting and visually stunning designs and then bring those sketches to life with fabric. Costumers are responsible for numerous activities, from design and fabrication to customer service, inventory, shipping, and other duties. A professional background in costuming and theater is preferred, but candidates with proven skills at the sewing machine and exceptional artistic talent are welcome to apply. The company maintains an educational environment where all staff members are encouraged to teach and learn from one another.
